show thumbnail image instead of video on mobile

Hey friendly people in this forum,
I am using thumbnail videos and it works awesome for desktop. But for mobile it requires too much bandwidth. Is there a way to fall back on images as project thumbnails on mobile?
I found this thread here, Armin said it should actually be the default behavior.. but for me videos play right away on mobile (after loading). do I miss a setting there?

@Richard I think he wants no video thumbnails on mobile only.

@rlon for me, your stories thumbnails are loading pretty slow on desktop too. I like this tool: https://handbrake.fr it compresses videos to a minimum size.

Hey @Richard and @felix_rabe, thanks for the feedback. Indeed I am looking for no video thumbs on mobile only. it seems to be the default but does not work for me..

@Richard, these are my settings in the customizer, seems not to have any effect on the video thumbs for mobile.
