Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Mobile_Detect in /
Hi!! I just updated my lay theme and now I cannot access to my web at all. I have my web since 2017 I think and I never updated anything, this weekend I wanted to start working on it but now is impossible, I lost all access. That means, I don't even get the option to login as admin. The only text that appears is:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Mobile_Detect in /home/.sites/20/site9918335/web/wp-content/themes/lay/assets/mobile_detect/Mobile_Detect.php on line 24
My web host had a backup, but as soon as I update Laytheme, happened again...
I'll keep everything as it was but I really want to update, the web loads so slow!
Today I updated to PHP 7.8, also all the plug ins and Wordpress 5.8.1. After that I tried to update Laytheme again and my website crashed one more time. So I recovered my page again with my web host backup but now I cannot modify my posts at all. I want to update my "About" info but I cannot edit anything. Sooo annoying!! Please some help? I think my Laytheme version is too old but I cannot update it without crashing my webpage.
Sorry to hear that you are having such trouble, also the wait over the weekend for a reply.
If you would like to email me at: email@example.com with your login information and link to this thread I can take a better look at what the problem may be. 🔍
I can also provide any versions of Lay Theme files and track down your license key for you. It was known that PHP version 8.0 caused issue for some user's but was not common - 7.8 should be fine.
Note: please do not disclose any of your personal details on this thread.
Also emailing is probably better for a back and forth conversation about your website and how to remedy the problem!
Talk soon Julio, if you have any other questions please feel free!
