Fullscreen mobile vertical slider „magnetic slides“

Hey, i wanna do a mobile fullscreen slider like this one: https://www.buntesamt.de/
The problem is that when even setting all grid settings to zero, that there is a white space between e.g. Thumbnails. Why is that ?
Or when doing pictures with a great height the white space will dissapear but when scrolling forth and back, thumbnails are changing their position.I just want a mobile vertical fullscreen slider with fixed image positions.
What do i need to pay attention to ?
Is there a perfect image height to width ratio or perfect number of colums ?
Colums are set so 1.

TimUnfortunately i can not upload regular phone screenshots here bc of the maximum
File size.But as you can see at the buntesamt page, the position from the content does not significantly change when scrolling forth and back - although when scrolling forth there is no browser window in safari and when scrolling back it appears.

Before you post:
