Can't add or edit image captions

I can't add or edit any image captions - the option to Edit Caption greys out when I try to click on it. I just updated to latest version of LAY theme this morning so perhaps it is a new bug?

you can always get earlier versions of laytheme on laykeymanager.com but of course this shouldnt happen! i will try and be more careful!
