I have a line of text on my homepage that I would like to adapt to the screen size too be always fullscreen width (on desktop). so instead of setting the number of pixels as the size of the font I would like it to be adaptive to the screen. How do I do this?

create an svg of that text and insert it as an image and size it to 100% width

Use the Search Feature. Maybe there is already a solution to your issue.
1. Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
2. Disable all Plugins
3. Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code ", click "Save Changes"
4. When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
