Hi all, hope you are well.

I have had this site for a while and in general it has not given many issues but I have received a few comments recently of very slow loading time for most pages (with and without images) in all browsers and devices. In other cases, content doesn't load at all and refreshing the page is required to 'wake the page up'

I have tried all the steps in the cyan box and this issue seems to remain — any ideas why this could be?

Thanks so much for your help,
    Christian

actually you know, for some people lay theme is really fast and for some its kinda slow.
this can also just be wordpress being slow

anyway, i will work on a tutorial on how to use the plugin "simply static" and the free static site hosting of kinsta: https://kinsta.com/static-site-hosting/

this way you'd turn your lay theme website to a so called "static" website, so there would be no more database requests and your laytheme website would just be turned into html files instead of wordpress and php and mysql, and that is much faster

so if you like i can try this out with your website

however, there are some caveats and also i tested this already and i need to do some changes to lay theme so overlays would still work for example

so lets see, maybe this would be a good solution for your website.

can you send your website address, /wp-admin/ username and password and a link to this topic to info@laytheme.com?

then i can try and make your website a static website and that would be a good test case

dont worry, i wont touch your actual online site, i would create a static site under a different domain just for testing purposes first

            Of course sorry my bad!!
            Link is this https://lasalbercas.com/

if i turn my site into a static website, what would this imply in terms of editing capabilities in case i have to add/edit content from laytheme?

I will share over the details to info@laytheme.com asap!

            Thanks again for your help,
            Christian

hey okay i see you're using a booking plugin

i cant turn your website to a static website with that, because creating a booking means your website needs to have access to the database i believe

but do you even use the booking plugin anywhere on your website?
its best to disable all plugins that you don't need

well first you can always try:
              https://laytheme.com/documentation/speeding-up-your-website.html

i just did these two things:

              Screenshot 2024-01-20 at 09.12.22.png

the site already seems to run faster no?

                Hey Armin,

Thanks a lot for your help.

Some pages have sped up, but this page still has some issues with the image hovers (some load, some dont) https://lasalbercas.com/ver-hacer/

In terms of the booking plugin, the idea was to have something integrated, but it has not become an external link when clicking on 'Consultar Disponibilidad' in the different properties, as highlighted in the attached screenshot.

Do you mind clarifying the implications of turning this page into a static one in terms of editing/updating content in laytheme?

                Thank you!

hey so with static websites, no contact form, booking plugins or anything like interactive will work where the user would send any information to the server

so if you want me to try and create the static website for you:

can you send your website address, /wp-admin/ username and password and a link to this topic to info@laytheme.com?
