hey, yep filebird works well with laytheme, you can create folders and sub folders for your media items. It is free but the paid version allows you to see the sub folders when you are uploading/modifying images to the gridder.

Ok, I started with plug in deactivation and found that WP Rocket was causing the issue.
I re-enabled it and found that clearing the cache on this plug in was able to remedy the issue while the plug in was enabled.
I'll keep an eye on this to see if this persists.
If you have any insights on this, what settings with this plug in are preferred etc. Please advise.
This looks like it solves it for now.

Unfortunately there is only one built in Media Library - with Wordpress normally and also within Lay Theme. There are Plugins out there that add Media Libraries for this purpose - because they are Third-party Plugins Armin doesnt code for these.
Best to give it a go and try out some plugins and see if they work - the simpler most likely the better! :)

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but to code for third-party plugins would soon become an endless task for one man :)

Just wondering if Wordpress, Lay Theme & Lay Themes plugins are all up to date? you have error's in your console:

You can use the inspection tool in Google Chrome by right clicking and choosing 'inspect' then going to "network" then reload your page to see the loading times:

Here i can see that these 4 images are slowing the website down.

However if you can split upload of images by size i am unsure sorry, however i hope @arminunruh can shed some light on the topic! :)
