I just purchased Image Hover with the intention to use it on my main menu. Does this generally work and if so how do I enable it?

I am about to purchase Laytheme but still have one thing that I am wondering about:

Is it possible to have no sliding Animation in the Lightbox add-on, so that the photos just change without any animated movement? Maybe by setting the sliding-duration to 0 milliseconds?
