yes. Because your initial load still waits for the click.

jQuery(document).on("click", ".quickmenu", function(event) { jQuery(this).toggleClass('red'); }); window.laytheme.on("newpageshown", function(){ jQuery(this).toggleClass('red'); });

I did not test ist, but can image that this might help.
