are you sure you also set a project thumbnail?

I think this is a website speed issue.
The Images are not loading fast enough in the Autoplay carousel so:

Blank (loading)
Just loaded - then Carousel moves onto next slide
Blank (loading) etc

I would suggest looking into how you can speed up your website:

https://laytheme.com/documentation.html#speedingup

There is a plugin referenced "Handbrake" for reducing image file size, also try with Lazy Loading activated and then try without to test the difference.

The code snipped is tested and works with a vertical slider. If yours is a horizontal one you probably need to change the direction:

jQuery.fn.fullpage.moveSectionDown()

to

jQuery.fn.fullpage.moveSlideRight()

exactly that does not work. I assume because it is a jQuery function which gets called on hover.
