sorted it out through other forum thread:
u need to use a different php version
you need at least php 7
you can set your php version in your webhost control panel

Critical error after activating the theme in WPHey! I get exactly the same problem as PiaZ. I have just "bought" a Lay Theme Free Version and when I activate the theme I get a Critical error... Can you help please?
