  • Stack Element goes off-border
    R rbnbm
    Jul 9, 2021, 10:33 AM

    Hey,

    I'm using the Stack Element to create a coloured background for a text box. Unfortunately, on mobile it doesn't stay within the grid but goes all the way to the edge of the screen (see images – the first one is the actual layout. For clarification, the second shows the stack element in the middle of the grid, and the problem still occurs). Desktop works fine – no custom phone layout in use.

    Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

    Hi @Richard-K ,

    Thanks!

    Unfortunately in Firefox (v85, MacOS 10.15.7) the problem is still unsolved... I guess learning never stops? Hope that is a good thing.

    Have a good day!

    Hi @Richard-K ,

    no, unfortunately not. Please have a look at the screenshot above – that's not how it is supposed to be, there has to be a white background behind the sub-menu points all the way through, not only at the beginning of the lines.

    Furthermore it is not possible to reach the links in the sub menu.
    Here is the testing site again: https://www.stage.ah-fotografie.de/

    On the main/actual site, there is still an older version of lay and wordpress installed.

    Thanks

    Dear @Richard-K ,

    Thanks! That almost did the trick – the lines break, but now the white background only appears at the beginning of menu point... I updated the link so you can see for yourself.

    Thanks again!

    Hello,

    no, that is set to horizontal, since the main menu points are supposed appear like that. On vertical, the menu a) overlaps with the content and b) the lower main menu points are being concealed by the sub menu points.

    As you may have guessed, this is the actual site: https://ah-fotografie.de/

    It should look like that (although in a perfect world the sub menu points wouldn't be indented : )

    Thanks!

    Re: Sub Menu Background

    Hi Marius,

    sorry for getting back at you with this old thing... after an update I did on a test-site, the points in the sub-menu arrange themselves horizontally (but should vertically).

    In 2.9.6 everything is fine, so I am not sure where exactly the error occurs.

    Here is the CSS again:

    .primary .sub-menu {
    display: none;
    position: absolute;
    background-color: white;
    border: 0px solid grey;
    padding: 10px 0px 10px 10px;
    }
    .primary .sub-menu li{
    display: block;
    }
    .menu-item:hover .sub-menu{
    display: block;
    }

    Thanks a lot!

  • New CSS for mobile Menu?
    R rbnbm
    Jan 31, 2020, 1:33 PM

    Hi,

    Recently, I'm having a problem with the margin of the mobile menu.
    So far, I've been using this:

    .use-mobile-menu nav.mobile-nav{
    margin-top: 80px !important;
    }

    But it doesn't seem to work anymore (right now, I'm using a workaround by increasing the menu point padding).

    Were there any changes in the CSS of the mobile menu?

    Thanks!

    Hi,
    I was wondering whether it is possible to change the background color in the text field when writing text - my text is white and I can't read it, only when I highlight it or in the code. And when I disable the visual editor in my account, the gridder disappears... Any ideas?
    Thanks!

  • (custom) font of search results / suggestions

    Hi,

    Is it possible to customize the font of the search results (meaning the suggestions that appear below the search field)? The standard overall (p) font of the site is not applied – and I can't get a hold of the class via the inspector.

    Thanks!

    Hi @arminunruh,

    Yes, I already found that in your comment to the video and did it – but it does not do the trick.

    As a side note: this is a kind of temporary URL given by the provider, since the actual one will migrate once the site is finished. Maybe that is a problem?

    Thanks, best

    dear @mariusjopen ,

    Thanks, but it does not work ; -)

    Text is indented again.

    0_1553768089126_Screen Shot 2019-03-28 at 11.14.35.png

    As I see it, the padding indents the text to the right. A negative value puts it back in place, but then there is no white space to the left.

    As I said, not perfect, but also not a big deal. I'm just wondering whether it is possible at all (I also tried different negative values, to no effect).

    Just to make sure, here is all of the code I am using right now for the menu:

    .primary .sub-menu {
    display: none;
    position: absolute;
    background-color: white;
    border: 0px solid grey;
    padding: 10px 0px 10px 10px;
    }
    .primary .sub-menu li {
    display: block;
    }
    .menu-item:hover .sub-menu{
    display: block;
    }

    Looking forward to the search thing...

    Best,

    Dear @mariusjopen ,

    Sorry, but your code delivers the following:

    The text is indented, not aligned with the item of the menu. Minor, I know, but still... I already tried different things but couldn't make it work. If it's not possble - okay. (I send you the login data via chat regarding the other matter, if you want to take a look....)

    Thanks again, your help is much appreciated!!!
