I've noticed the same. In my case, it seems not to be only with the carousel, but with all the images in general: since the new update, they are all loading very slow.

Same problem here. Actually, I have the problem with all images on my site, not only in the caroussel (http://rogerconscience.com/). It seems to be like this since the last update. Before, the images always loaded up pretty quick.
