  • Youtube embed 4:3 when live
    R runebrink

    @mariusjopen Thanks, i did and used a css workaround:

    <div class="container">
    <iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/live_stream?channel=UCslakCvwX60o10L5pK6VgfA"
    frameborder="0" allowfullscreen class="video"></iframe>
    </div>

    .container {
    position: relative;
    width: 100%;
    height: 0;
    padding-bottom: 56.25%;
    }
    .video {
    position: absolute;
    top: 0;
    left: 0;
    width: 100%;
    height: 100%;
    }

    Dearest laystreamers

    Im getting a strange render bug here, when embedding youtube videos in laytheme, they appear normally as 16:9, but 4:3 when its a live stream.

    If i embed the same stream traditionally trough HTML embed, it show correctly, leaving me suspicious about it being in the laytheme end?

    Heres an example:

    Hello

    I am in love with Laytheme, theres nothing like it and i would never consider using any other theme these days than Lay. I recommend it for all my friends, and i use it for all the websites i make for clients...

    BUT, some of my client projects are large projects, with contracts and terms that goes beyond what Laytheme offers in security for the future right now...

    Being based on its own custom content types (or whatever :) and me being a designer at not a programmer, leave me with some kind of insecurity when considering Laytheme for larger client projects.

    Ive seen smaller theme developers disappear before, leaving me with obsolete themes having to go trough a redesign or theme change. BUT what do i tell the client about what would happend to all their content if Laytheme shuts down? Changing to another theme leaves the site blank and i have no other option than building a backup of all the texts somewhere else, for me to be able to reconstruct the site in a possible lay-less future.

    The same goes for clients who want me take over their existing WP sites, to build them as cool as Lay can do, but i have to copy paste all the text content into new text fields, and this is a large task with larger websites.

    A future dream would be a laytheme that supports previous content made with standard text editor, and a way of re-using the content made with laytheme when switching to another theme...

    I hope Laytheme will always be here, and i wish i could make all my projects from scratch but is there any way this could be done?

    Sorry about this long rant, but its a re-occuring concern on my different projects..,

    And thanks for all the work, without you i would "only" be a designer :)

    HI

    This question is probably a grand old classic: How do i get access to text content on posts created with the traditional WP Text Editor while being on a different theme?

    Im importing a 500 pages art-archive from an old art duo and moving them to Laytheme, they are on straight up HTML page, im importing these to WP posts - and i would like a "relatively" quick way to see old text content and paste it into new layouts on Lay...

    Any ideas? Im not a developer so hoping for checkboxes that i didnt find ;)

  • User posting / disable gridder for specifict posts or categories?
    R runebrink

    Hi

    Any news on this request? Still relevant if i want to show content or projects not entered through gridder, from like for example USP...

    Could also be useful for old content created with the standard WP text field. Maybe it would be some kind of setting for new posts/projects where to autoinsert content from standard WP text field...

    This would unlock this theme as a theme for social networks too :)

    Thanks again for laying som many things out for me, im running + 4 sites on lay theme now - yah

    Hi

    Thanks for being my all time favorite WP theme ❣️

    This question has probably been answered many times before since you emphasize that Lay doesnt do with any kind of plugins.

    But is there some simple way to disable gridder for certain posts or categories, or as in my case for posts made by user frontends like USP (https://da.wordpress.org/plugins/user-submitted-posts)

    It would be a simple solution to enable plugins like this, and simply just allowing us to do custom CSS for those pages instead of gridder completely blocking the content as it does now.

    Thanks
    Rune
