The new layout cache feature appears to be incompatible with Polylang. When we enable layout caching, the website displays all tags in both languages (ENG/DE) and the project thumbnail grid no longer displays any projects.

layout Cache not incompatible with Polylang? -
category filter logicHi Armin,
right now we prefer to use the tag filter: it offers more options than the category filter. We like the fact that several tags can be selected at the same time, e.g. if you want to get an overview of lectures/exhibitions/publications (=public relations, some of these tags are currently still missing). I tried to explain that here already: http://laythemeforum.com:4567/post/44358...

category filter logicHi Armin,
everything looks fine from my perspective. I adjusted the category assignment so that all projects now have only one category and are no longer part of the ALL/ALLE categories, and then changed the default setting to ‘Show all projects’. Now all projects are shown in the thumbnail grid as expected and the Next/Prev navigation within the project categories works perfectly.
I created a new project in the News category in German and English, and it appears directly in the thumbnail grid. The only sorting option now is ‘Order in Project Overview’, but this also works well; the order adjusted in the Project Overview is transferred 1:1 to the thumbnail grid.
You are welcome to use the access data sent by email and test it yourself if you like. We will not be active there again until Monday evening.Sebastian

category filter logicHi Armin,
yes this sounds good! An option to show projects of all categories in Thumbnailgrid settings would solve my problem. Thank you again for your great work and ongoing support! -
category filter logicHi Armin,
I'm coming back to this topic: Yes, I'm now simply using the tag filter.
But my actual problem is a different one: I would like to have next/prev buttons under the projects that lead to the next project in the same category. Unfortunately, this is not currently working, even though I have activated "Projects of same category" in the Lay options. As I understand it, this should mean: projects that belong to the same category (e.g., all projects that belong to both the "All" category and the "News" category).
The topic of the category filter only came up because I mistakenly thought that filtering the thumbnail grid by category would have an influence on the next/prev buttons.
The current test version of the site can be found here: http://rimu.richtermusikowski.com -
Change order of thumbnail subtitlesCool! Thank's a lot!

Change order of thumbnail subtitlesHi Armin,
is there a simple way to change the order of project tag and project title underneath the project thumbnails? I want to have the project tag as a general classification first and then the project title. Standard theme setup is: first the project title, than the project tag. I can do that with CSS, but that doesn't seem like a good solution here.
Thanks,

category filter logicHey Armin,
sorry, I think I posted my question a little too hastily. After a long break, I had been tinkering with our website, and I remembered that jumping between projects in the same category only works if you access the project via a grid page that has been filtered by that category beforehand. But that's obviously nonsense, and I'm testing it again now.Regarding the category filter: it would be nice to have an option similar to the tag filter that allows projects from multiple categories to be displayed (e.g., projects from the “Lectures” category and from the “Publications” category).
Thanks again!
-
category filter logicThat would also be okay, but it would be better if the project "knew" which category it belonged to independently of the previous filtering and if the prev/next buttons only led to the prev/next member of the category accordingly.

category filter logicHi Armin,
can the category filter logic (for the project thumbnail grid) be changed to an OR logic, similar to the tag filter? The goal is to filter projects that belong to two different categories, for example.
The background to this is your suggestion to use the category filter instead of the tag filter in order to navigate only between projects that belong to the same category in the project navigation...Thanks in advance!

Prev/Next Project Links -> projects of same categoryHello Armin,
here is the link: rm.metagebirge.de
The site is still under construction and many things are still unfinished. Our realized works filtered on the start page under “Projekte” have Prev/Next Project links at the bottom of the corresponding project pages. However, these currently also lead to other project types (News/Publikationen). A “Alle” category has been set up in the backend as the default category so that all content appears on the start page in the project thumbnail grid regardless of the tags used. The second category is “Arbeiten”, under which all realized works are summarized. We do not use the category filter, only the tag filter. You can also have a look at the backend if required. Thank you! -
Prev/Next Project Links -> projects of same categoryhello armin,
Unfortunately, after the 7.7.3 update on December 31, the project navigation for navigating to the next/previous project no longer works as expected. As I understand the update description, the navigation should lead to the next project, which after the standard category has the same category as the current project. The corresponding option in the Lay Options is active, but the generated links always lead through all existing projects, regardless of the categories. Is there a way to enable the original behavior without downgrading to a pre 7.7.3 version (I don't want to lose the great new copy/paste feature!)? -
Gridder: Column widthHello Armin,
thank you for your feedback.
The use case is a free poster-like layout of text blocks and images that all have different column widths. It looks good on a desktop monitor, but not on a tablet because the desktop content is only scaled down 1:1 and all the blocks are actually too narrow.
As I understand the element grid feature, all elements inserted there have the same width - resulting from the number of columns. This means that layouts with different image and textblock widths are not possible there. In short: I would very much like to see a custom tablet option for the Gridder in addition to the custom phone layout option. -
Gridder: Column widthI know that I can create my own phone layout manually. I had hoped that there would be a more granular adjustability analogous to the Bootstrap column classes (e.g. .col-sm-6 or .col-lg-3 etc.), which allow a very flexible breakpoint-specific setting of the column widths.
If I understand correctly, in Laytheme there is unfortunately only the preset number of columns and after the phone breakpoint the reduction to one column or an alternative phone layout to be created. Intermediate steps cannot be set. In my opinion, this is somewhat inconvenient. -
Gridder: Column widthHello Laythemer,
is it correct that the Gridder columns only have 2 widths: up to the phone breakpoint the column width is the window width divided by the specified number of columns and below the phone breakpoint the column width is 100%? And if that's correct: are there simple ways to adjust this behavior? Thanks for your feedback!

project overlay changes main site scaleHello Armin, thank you for your quick support.
I hadn't yet tested the last update 7.46 in this regard, but according to the description there was an adjustment from you.
However, I have now adapted my page and menu structure so that it works well even without project overlays. -
Search and languagesHello everybody,
Is there any news on this topic? I also have the problem that, depending on the current language setting, clicking on the wrong language search result leads to a blank page. I also use Polylang. -
project overlay changes main site scaleIt looks like opening the project overlay changes the overflow-y setting for the html element from "scroll" to "hidden". This is causing the main site to scale to full width when opening the overlay. Is it possible to change that somehow?
-
project overlay changes main site scaleYes, there is a scrollbar, wich disapears when I open the project overlay, you can see it here: https://rm.metagebirge.de. I'm on a mac (MacOS 13.7) and it happens in Firefox and Safari.

project overlay changes main site scaleHello,
when i use the project overlay feature - which is really a great option - there is a strange scale effect of the main page when opening and closing the overlay. In your example video it all looks pretty smooth, here it wobbles back and forth a bit unattractively... Is there a way to fix this?
