Nonetheless I really recommend to not change existing mobile menu designs with an update. It is a kind of surprising situation when the mobile menu suddenly looks different after an update. ✌️</p>

This won't make any changes to your site because now you already touched those settings.<br />
But for other people, those new settings will only be applied when they activate Lay Theme on a fresh install. If they just use Lay Theme just like that, they already have it installed, they will keep the old default settings.</p>

Let me think about how to handle this differently.<br />
I think I should change the behavior and make it so the default values stay the same, so people don't run into the same issue that you did.</p>
<p dir="auto">And then somehow only change the default values if someone just freshly activated Lay Theme.</p>

I just did not realise first that it worked because it still looks off in the customiser while on the actual phone it appears as intended.</p>
