Change appearance of categories in URL

hello
is there any way to change or get rid of the default behavior of categories in url?
by default categories are being displayed with a "#" at the beginning:
... /home/#category-fotothis however prevents doing simple changes to specific category site with just css using .slug .
maybe there is a workaround?

well u will still be on the same page, u're just filtering the thumbnailgrid element, its not a real new category page
so the bodys slug doesnt change
