Photography compression

Hey guys,
Any advice or best practices when it comes to compressing jpegs from a photographer for the web?
My current method is bringing down to 2000px max in photoshop with an 8 jpeg quality. are there any better ways whilst retaining quality?

yea u can use this plugin:

it converts your images to webp
