I updated WordPress and the Lay Theme through Hostinger because I was unable to update Lay Theme through the WordPress dashboard.

After updating, I lost the custom CSS that was applied to the homepage of my website. My homepage is set up as a “category” page, so I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I downloaded a backup through Hostinger, but I can’t seem to find the specific CSS file in the backup. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place.

I’d rather not restore the entire website to the previous version because I’ve made some changes since the backup was created.

Is there any way to recover the missing custom CSS from the backup, or is there somewhere else I should look?

    My website: https://www.ahmetliman.com/

If you go to Lay Options -> Custom CSS / HTML, is the custom css still visible there?
Or do you mean your custom css simply does not work anymore?

if you changed the theme files themselves to insert custom css, this gets lost when updating the theme. not sure if that was the case

Apologies for the delayed response. The CSS I added under Lay Options -> Custom CSS / HTML is still there and working fine, as is the CSS on my individual project pages. The issue is specifically with the CSS in the 'Gridder / Edit Category' tab of my homepage. I added the code to either the 'Edit CSS' or 'Edit Desktop CSS' section; I am fairly certain the 'Edit Phone CSS' section was already empty.

When I was trying to figure out why I couldn't update my Lay theme trough wordpress anymore I also tried changing themes and turning all the plugins on and off. Maybe that could have to do with it?

could you update your laytheme and check if you see the css again?

if not, can you send me a backup of your database (.sql) file to info@laytheme.com and i will check and see if i find the missing CSS in there
