thumbnail gridder in footer not showing

Hi everyone,
Since yesterday's theme update, the thumbnail grid in my footer is no longer showing. The footer itself is still there, as the headline and the "Jump to Top" button are visible, but the grid is missing.
I havenโt changed anything, so I suspect it might be related to the update. My projects are loaded as "Project Overlays."
Has anyone experienced the same issue, or does anyone have an idea what could be causing this?
btw: when I am in the โCustomizerโ and call up a project, the thumbnail grid is displayed in the footer. strange!
