fluentcart
-
hey, I've started using fluentforms and fluentsmtp with lay and are working really well. I see they just released fluentcart a woocommerce competitor. On the back of how well their other plugins are I wanted to try it out but it doesn't seem to work with lay, even with the shortcode - the fluentcart shop page is blank and even the lay nav vanishes. Wonder why as fluentforms and fluentbooking shortcodes all work fine with lay. I tried ticking the content filter option but didn't change anything.
No rush at all with looking into it, more curious than anything. Fluentcart does look a lot slicker and less heavy than Woo so would be nice in the future to use it if it was possible.
Link to page where i'm trying out the Fluentcart shortcode is on: https://alasdairdimmick.com/shop/
Thanks,
Alasdair

interesting!
what i dont like about woocommerce is their default template and default css is so old!
basically they never changed it to have everything always backwards compatible.
so styling the shop well was kinda hard to do for lay theme.probably its better now since now i think woocommerce supports wordpress blocks to build the checkout and so on. but yea lay theme doesnt really use blocks.
also, i think shopify has a better admin panel experience, and checkout flow / style
it seems that fluentcart costs 250$... lol
if you want a alternative to woocommerce, look into this
https://www.shopify.com/de/buy-buttonbasically u use shopify and just embed buy buttons into lay theme.
then it has the sidecart and uses the shopify checkout.i think i wont work on fluentcart integration into lay theme. i think most of my customers wont spend 250$ on a shop plugin. and if its that expensive maybe ppl should just go with shopify instead

@arminunruh thanks armin, there is actually a free version of fluentcart but yeah all good, I don't mind using woocommerce for a shop, I was just looking at some alternatives.
anyway i'm glad fluentforms works with lay! you can also sell simple products via fluentforms and it has a stripe checkout.
