For the past few weeks, no images have been displayed on the website (pc, tablet, smartphone). The image in the header is displayed, but not on the page itself. When I log into the front end, access the relevant page, and save it, the image is displayed again. Where is the mistake?

@arminunruh Any idea what might be causing the image to sometimes not appear, but then reappear after I simply refresh the page in laytheme?

Today, once again, only placeholder. On all devices.

Now, finally, I was able to recreate the issue.
So here it says that it's trying to load the image from HTTP, but it doesn't work because I'm on the HTTPS site.

Can you make it so when loading this page

                http://wolkenundwasser.de/

                It then redirects to:

                https://wolkenundwasser.de/

The Force SSL plugin should do this automatically:

                https://wordpress.org/plugins/really-simple-ssl/

Just activating the plug-in is not enough. You need to go to the plug-in settings and then click some buttons there to enable it properly.

If you use the laytheme layout cache, click clear cache in the admin bar afterwards.

Normally, the HTTP and HTTPS are set correctly when an image is loading. My best guess here is that you're using Laytheme's layout cache or a different caching plugin, which skips this check.

Because I think what happens is the page is cached when someone visits the website using HTTP. Then, when someone else visits the website using HTTP, the cached version of the site tries to load the image through HTTP which doesn't work.

Actually, if my assumption is right, I think I should be able to code a fix for this. i will include it with the next update

Okay, you can update Laytheme now and then see if it works properly because the new update includes this fix that should make this work.
