custom links on news index list

Hey @arminunruh,
I’m creating a Project Index with News as the main content type, and I noticed that a News item’s custom link doesn’t work the same way in the Index list as it does in the News Thumbnail grid.
I saw that the custom link panel says this setting only applies to thumbnails, but I think it could also make sense for it to work in the Index list as well. Since it’s a custom link, I’d expect it to redirect to the chosen destination instead of opening the News page, just like on the thumbnails. Alternatively, it could be useful to have an option for this specific case.

@arminunruh I didn’t even know this feature existed until yesterday when I was tinkering with a website I’m working on. But if the custom link works the way I mentioned, it would be a lifesaver!
Do you have any idea of the timeline for this update?
