Use add-on which is not from lay-theme

I just wanted to use a different add-on ( not from lay-theme ) to get myself a fullscreen-slideshow (with captions on a layer on top of the pictures in the slideshow) which is not really possible with lay theme without having knowledge in coding and jquery.
Is it possible that lay theme doesn't allow other add-ons?...it seems like that because no other add-on is working as it is shown in the video-tutorials of the add-ons.

with LayTheme it is not possible to install your own sliders.

If you want to use many third-party plugins – we recommend LayGridder.
