The colors and stuff seem to be an html-format, which causes the "custom html is preserved exactly. use code view to edit it"-block?
Is there any other solution, or I am just unlucky that the texts on my website consist primarily of the 10% stuff that doesn't work?

After the new update (Version: 11.6.1 ), I cannot edit existing text anymore. If I open the text editor within a given project, it tells me "custom html is preserved exactly. use code view to edit it".
I can "fix" this by switching to the old editor and typing there - but I would really like to apply the new features (which are really cool!), like text background and so on. But of course they are not available in the old editor.
I couldn't figure out where to find this code view? Or is there any other option to apply the new features to existing text?

The title says is all: I can't change the front page. It always used to be "categories", but I had to restore a backup, and from that point on a random project shows up as the front page (it's always the same project though).
I tried to change it at Customize > Front page, but as you can see in the screenshots: no matter what I chose, it always shows this specific project.

Update: As I needed the website, I restored my latest backup with an old Lay theme version, so you can`t see the error in action anymore.
However, I really beg you to look into this - I really wish to be able to update to the new Lay version (especially since it finally seems to support Polylang content duplication?)!
Circling back to this, I don't want to be annoying, but seriously, how do I do this? My website is still down, and I can't find any other option for support than this forum? Is there any chance to get support somewhere else, or to contact someone directly about it?

And no, I still can't log in, at wp-admin it only tells me there has been a critical error.
I got an email that provided a link for "recovery mode" though. It works and I deactivated all of the plugins (which didn't change anything, as the problem seems to be about the theme). Now I'm at loss what to do, as I don't know what the error detail actually means...
Correction: The frontend is not just blank - the start page actually shows up (it's the 'category' page with a lot of thumbnails set as starting page) - but when you actually click on one of the thumbnails, all of the following project pages are just blank.

I just tried to update Lay Theme to its newest version (which always worked without any problem, I have used Lay for years). However, this time it crashed and the whole website broke down. I can't access the regular backend (and frontend is just blank).
When I access in 'recovery mode', it tells me "Error: This theme failed to load properly and was paused within the admin backend."
Wordpress also sent me an automated email to notify me that the site was closed down. It tells me this:
An error of type E_PARSE was caused in line 162 of the file /var/www/vhosts/hosting4638.af92e.netcup.net/httpdocs/wp-content/themes/lay/assets/plugins/post-duplicator-polylang/includes/class-post-duplicator-polylang.php. Error message: syntax error, unexpected '?'
What shall I do now?

When will this be fixed? I have the same problem, but I must admit that I hesitate to deactivate Yoast... do you know it the content that I added to Yoast (Keywords and stuff) will still be there if I deactivate it now and activate it later? Or will they be gone?

Actually I was thinking if perhaps that is the problem: That Yoast somehow "overwrites" the description given in the Lay Options? Is that a thing?? While Yoast allows me to edit the snippet for each project-page, I don't find the possibility to edit the snippet for the "Home"-page (I can change the snippet for the category-page, but although this also functions as my "Home"-page, the url is different).
Can you tell me where to change the snippet/meta for the Homepage with Yoast? Or is there no point in it and the problem is a different one?

Oh, and I put the meta description there months ago, it's not a new one.

When I googled my website (to check the ranking), I discovered that Google does not show the meta description that I put in Lay Options -> Meta -> Website Description. Instead, Google shows the names of the first projects on the site.
Is there anything I can do about it?
